Here are five best practices that can help you properly care for your forklift batteries and improve your bottom line:

1. Inspect

Keep the battery clean, dry and free from corrosion. Inspect your battery for any defects or malfunctions and have your service provider repair them as needed.  

2. Maintain Proper Water Levels

The correct water level is about ½ inch below the battery cap opening. Do not overfill and only fill batteries at the end of the charging.

3. Monitor Your Battery's Temperature

Avoid overheating, overdischarge and other conditions that can cause battery damage, shorten the life of your battery or void battery warranties.

4. Introduce Automation
